BLACKBIRD by David Harrower
Directed by award winning Nick Bagnall
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this production has been postponed, details will be announced very soon.
Ray is confronted with his past when Una arrives unannounced at his office. Guilt, rage and raw emotions run high as they recollect their relationship from fifteen years ago, when she was twelve and he was forty.
Blackbird has won several awards including Best New Play at the Olivier Awards and in 2016 transferred to Broadway starring Jeff Bridges and Michelle Williams.
Harrower's gripping drama "e;mixes guilt, memory and desire into the most potent of theatrical cocktails"e; – Daily Telegraph.
Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
"Consent" by Nina Raine tells the story of two lawyers, Ed and Tim, who are opposing each other on a rape case. The play follows them in and out of the courtroom as the drama soon spills out into their own marriages.
Raine leaves us questioning, what is consent, how can we define it? Who will defend those who truly need defending?
"Consent is a challenging, emotionally intense and thought-provoking play with a superb cast. If you can catch at the Hope Street Theatre this week, I would highly recommend you do" - North West End
"The handling of Consent was done in an extremely sensitive manner in the play. The narrative of the story was very raw and realistically portrayed by the very talented cast" - Reviewer Number Nine
